Ski Boot Fitting at Skee-Tex

Ski boots are arguably the most important piece of equipment for a successful ski holiday, as the right fit can make or break your experience. Fitting ski boots should never be rushed—time and care must be taken to ensure they suit you perfectly. We strongly recommend bringing along quality ski socks, as they are crucial to the fitting process and can make all the difference in comfort.

Boot Sizing & Fit
  • Ski boots are not sized like regular shoes. They use the Mondo point system, which measures the length of the foot in centimeters.
  • Both the width and depth of the foot are also factored in for a more precise fit.
  • With modern advancements in boot design, there are now many different lasts to accommodate wider feet, so going up in size for width is unnecessary.
  • Proper Fit: Ski boots should feel snug but comfortable. It’s important not to choose a boot that’s too large, as this will lead to over-tightening, creating pressure points and distorting the boot’s shape.
  • When you first put the boots on, your toes should lightly touch the front of the boot, but when you flex into a ski position, your toes should pull back slightly.
Custom Fitting Process
  • We recommend trying on several models to find the best fit.
  • As part of the fitting, the boots can be heat-moulded to improve comfort and customize the fit further.
  • Corrective footbeds can also be added, and boots can be stretched to relieve any pressure points that may still exist.
