Our own · in production since 1950
The original boot
Guaranteed to −50°C. Worn by Sir Ranulph Fiennes on expedition. Made to the same principle for three-quarters of a century, because the principle was right the first time.

Heat you already have
Most warm boots work by being thick — more material, more trapped air, more bulk. Ours works differently. An aluminium heat-reflective liner sits inside the boot and returns your own body heat to your foot, rather than letting it escape into the ground.
That is why it works sitting still. A bank angler on a frozen morning, an explorer waiting out a storm, anyone who needs to keep still for hours in the cold — a thicker boot slowly gives up, and this one does not.

The same cuff, the same sole, the same liner inside — made at Battlesbridge since 1950.

Years in the same boots
“Amazing service, I’ve had skee-Tex thermal boots for years for winter fishing, the polystyrene insoles had been chomped by mice , I contacted Justin at Skee-Tex who offered to send out free replacement ones. That’s what I call great service.”

Alex B. · 2019Google review “Had the best experience with this company. Quick responses from the team (thanks Vicky and Liz). Item was sent out incredibly fast. Support was there when I needed it. I will 100% be using this company in the future! I'd give them more stars if I could!”

Sized honestly
There is a line we've used for years, and it is the truest thing on the whole site: the sizes shown are what the boots actually fit, not what's moulded into the sole.
The number pressed into the sole is the size of the mould, not the size of the finished boot with its liner in. We list what the boot fits. If you are between sizes, go up — the liner needs air around it to do its job, and a squeezed boot is a cold boot.
When the liner eventually tires, you replace it rather than the boot — a quarter of the price, and the full temperature rating restored.
