About the Salomon Strive 12 GripWalk Black/Silver Metallic

The Strive 12 GripWalk is a versatile intermediate binding that switches seamlessly between Alpine DIN and GripWalk boots with no manual adjustment. Its low-profile chassis and ultra-low-profile toe piece keep your centre of gravity closer to the ski, giving you sharper terrain feedback and more direct power transmission on groomed runs and off-piste.

Why we rate it

The LDN Toe design features an extra-wide pedal over 60 mm, which spreads lateral forces across a broader base for more stable edging and turn control. The 3-part heel construction absorbs vibration while keeping the boot seated securely, and the sliding toe pedal with elastic travel means it recentres smoothly after sideways movement — reducing the risk of accidental pre-release on moguls or variable terrain. It's built from glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide, so it handles impacts without adding weight.

The DIN range of 4–12 covers most intermediate and stronger skiers, and the automatic wing and toe adjustment means you get consistent performance whether you're using Alpine or GripWalk boots. TÜV certified for safety.

Who it's for

Intermediate skiers who want a binding that tracks everything from corduroy to backcountry access terrain. Suits anyone who plans to switch between Alpine and GripWalk boots without fiddling with settings. Works well for freesking in variable conditions where you need stable support and the confidence to make quick turns.
