Goldbergh PORTER Ski Jacket

A short down jacket cut cropped through the hips, built for the modern ski line-up. The big collar sits high; the hood lifts out of it rather than folding into it, so you get full neck coverage without restriction. Loose fit through the body means it wears well over a mid-weight pully or thermal base layer for intermediate to advanced skiers who move between runs and want room to breathe.

Why we rate it

The shell is 58% polyester, 42% recycled polyester—Goldbergh sources partly recycled fabrics to cut waste. Waterproof to 10,000 mm and breathable at 5,000 g/m²/24hrs (tested to JIS standard), it handles snow and sleet while letting moisture out when you're working hard. Down insulation is RDS certified, meaning it meets the Responsible Down Standard for ethical sourcing and removes animal welfare concerns. The lining is partly recycled too and finished with anti-odour treatment so the jacket stays fresh over a season.

Pockets are well thought through: two at the front, two inside the shell, and one sewn into the left sleeve sized for a ski pass. A detachable snowcatcher stops powder entering at the waist. Inside carry strap, knitted cuffs seal the inside of each sleeve.

The short cut sits clean above the hip, making it easy to move between the lodge and the hill. True to size; the loose fit is intentional and gives you room to layer underneath.
