About the Hestra Women's Fall Line 5 Finger Glove

The Women's Fall Line is a 5-finger ski glove designed for women who freeride and ski off-piste. It's warm enough for sustained cold exposure without being bulky, with enough durability to handle rough terrain and impacts. The treated cowhide shell and G-Loft insulation strike a balance between protection and feel.

Why we rate it

The box-finger construction keeps your hands in a natural pre-curved grip position, making pole control and dexterity straightforward. The removable synthetic liner means you can wash it separately or dry it quickly between days. Cowhide is forgiving—it scuffs rather than tears, and waxed leather maintenance keeps it supple. The neoprene cuff with Velcro closure seals out snow without cutting off wrist movement, and the included wrist strap with carabiner makes sure you won't lose a glove on the lift or in deep snow.

Who it's for

Intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders doing on-piste and off-piste work. The cut is slimmer than men's gloves to fit women's narrower hands, and the combination of warmth and mobility suits sustained freeriding rather than resort laps. Women with average to narrow hands will feel the difference in fit.

Key features

  • Treated cowhide shell — durable, water-resistant leather that softens over time
  • G-Loft insulation — lightweight, compressive polyester fibre that breathes and dries fast
  • Removable synthetic liner — brush polyester, machine washable, easy to dry
  • Box-finger construction — hands rest in a natural curve for better grip and control
  • Neoprene handcuff with Velcro — snug seal without constricting the wrist
  • Wrist strap with carabiner — tether to your jacket or pack to avoid dropping a glove
  • Leather balm included — care product to maintain the cowhide's water resistance and suppleness

Fit and feel

Tight and responsive. The women-specific cut narrows through the palm and fingers compared to men's versions, so hands sit snug against the shell without excess fabric. The pre-curved fingers mean you grip a pole naturally without having to make a fist. The cuff sits just above the wrist and cinches with Velcro, leaving your forearm free to flex. Cowhide softens gradually with use and molding to your hand shape.

From the fitting room: These are not waterproof—they're water-resistant. If you're spending hours in heavy wet snow, you'll notice moisture creeping in. They suit variable conditions and short-to-medium freeriding sessions better than all-day touring in deep dumps.
