About the Steiner Radiator Heated Glove ST-GL0802

These are battery-heated ski gloves designed to keep your hands warm for a full day on the slopes. The Steiner Radiator combines an electronic heating system with quality insulation to deliver consistent warmth across three controllable levels, so you can adjust output depending on conditions and battery life needs. The heating elements are integrated into the palm and fingers using flexible, non-corrosive fabric that distributes heat evenly without bulk.

Why we rate it

The heating system is the standout. Two supplied lithium-ion batteries charge via the included USB twin charger, and you can swap them halfway through the day for uninterrupted warmth. At the highest setting (red, 75% output) they'll run for about 4 hours; dial back to the lowest level (blue, 33% output) and you get 8.5 hours. The touch-screen-compatible fingertips mean you can operate your phone or camera without removing the glove, and the soft brushed tricot lining is comfortable against skin all day.

Build quality is solid: a waterproof, windproof soft-shell outer with leather reinforcement across the palm where you grip, plus a gauntlet cuff with an easy-adjust wrist strap to seal out wind. The glove is washable (with batteries removed), which is rare in heated kit.

Who it's for

Anyone who struggles with cold hands on the slopes—particularly those with poor circulation, or anyone spending long days in bitter conditions. They suit all ability levels and work equally well for skiing, snowboarding or off-piste walking. Fit runs small compared to regular ski gloves; Steiner's sizing chart maps their "Mens Small" to women's X-Large, so try before you commit.

Key features

  • 3-level electronic heating system — red (75%, ~4 hrs), white (50%, ~6 hrs), blue (33%, ~8.5 hrs)
  • Lithium-ion batteries — two 2200mAh units included with USB dual charger for all-day swaps
  • 100g Primaloft insulation — lightweight thermal protection even when heating is off
  • Touch-screen compatible — operate phones and cameras without removing the glove
  • Waterproof and windproof — soft-shell with leather palm, gauntlet cuff seals wrist
  • Washable — anti-microbial tricot lining, hardware can be removed for cleaning
  • 2-year warranty — covers battery and heating elements

Fit and feel

These run tight in the palm—Steiner's sizing chart shows each size is 0.5–1 cm narrower than standard men's gloves. The gauntlet cuff is tall and generous, with a draw-cord and wrist strap to keep wind out. Pre-curved fingers feel natural without any restriction, and the leather palm gives a secure grip even when damp. The heating elements warm the fingers and palm first, so sensation returns quickly when you take them off.
