Built for men skiing and riding in cold conditions, the SOS Gravity M Insulated Jacket combines waterproof shell, breathable membrane, and warm insulation for all-day mountain protection.

Why we rate it

The 15,000 mm waterproof rating and 15,000 g/m²/24 h breathability keep you dry whilst allowing sweat to escape. Synthetic PrimaLoft insulation delivers lightweight warmth without bulk, and the regular fit accommodates baselayer and midlayer without restricting movement. All seams are taped and fully sealed; the outer fabric is treated with Bionic Finish DWR and the jacket is windproof throughout.

Sealing the elements is straightforward. The hood draws close with cord and sits high, protecting the chin. Internal sleeve cuffs feature thumb holes to keep them in place; wrist ends close with velcro straps. The removable snow gaiter keeps cold air out, and the hem cinches with drawcord. YKK front zip runs the full length.

Storage and comfort are well thought through. Zippered hand pockets, an arm pocket, and internal mesh pocket provide secure places for your essentials. Raglan sleeves allow natural arm swing, and the material has light stretch for easier movement.

Fit and feel

Regular fit extends to the hip. The jacket accommodates baselayer and midlayer comfortably without restriction. Material is soft polyester with stretch cuffs (85% polyester, 15% elastane); the lining is brushed polyester that feels warm against the skin. PrimaLoft insulation is synthetic, so it retains warmth even when damp and dries quickly.

From the fitting room: The internal thumb holes and sealing hood make this a solid choice if you tend to run cold on the mountain or spend long days in variable weather. The removable snow gaiter is a practical touch if you layer it with separate ski pants or prefer a baselayer-only approach.
